The Flash (Wally West) issues 25-27 - Attempt to replicate the accident that gave him and Barry their powers, to get Wally past the speed of sound. About the only people to come out of this unscathed was the Bat Family. theory is this was to try and pull some marvel readers who didn't like the 'godlike characters' of DC. ex - Superman after Crisis could be caused to bleed from something as powerful as a tank shell, Wally could only move at the speed of sound, and many other heroes were depowered to 'reasonable' levels. Keep in mind, Crisis was created not only to help streamline continuity to allow new readers a jumping on point after many years of multiverse history, it was also used a depowering agent to make all of DC Heroes more 'grounded'.
